About the studio

Autocabsin Storage grew out of a frustration with Uppsala kitchens that looked finished on paper yet could not hold a normal week of groceries. We plan pantries and cupboards as measured inventories, not as decorative afterthoughts.

Founders and early work

Linnea Holm trained in interior detailing and spent winters sorting student kitchens near Gamla Torget. Erik Vahl brought joinery experience from renovating Fjärdingen flats where every millimetre of wall depth mattered.

They opened a shared ledger of pantry commissions so future clients could see which shelf depths survived real Swedish winters rather than relying on catalogue renders alone.

Year timeline

1. 2017 — First paid pantry redraws for two student flats above a bakery street near the Domkyrka; notes kept in a paper notebook that became the studio ledger.
2. 2019 — Studio name Autocabsin Storage registered; focus narrowed to pantry, utility, and hallway systems after clients kept asking for food storage rather than full interiors.
3. 2021 — Workshop corner established at Dragarbrunnsgatan 46 for sample shelves, bin trials, and client walk-ins between lectures and office hours.
4. 2023 — Gear-wall line added after bike and ski storage spilled into living rooms during colder seasons; load tests documented for brick and stud walls.
5. 2025 — Labelling and inventory sheets standardised for multi-language student households; fee schedule published in SEK for transparent consult and package bands.
6. 2026 — Online ledger catalogue launched at autocabsin.media with SKU-coded service pages for Uppsala clients.

How we work with Uppsala housing stock

Heritage rooms in Fjärdingen demand respect for uneven floors and thick walls. Newer student blocks demand removable furniture and quiet installs that neighbours will not hear at midnight.

We write those constraints into every brief so a carpenter never assumes a flat site or unlimited drilling rights.

Team habits today

Two planners and one rotating carpenter partner handle most commissions. When demand peaks before autumn term, we pause new full packages rather than rush drawings.

Clients meet us at the Dragarbrunnsgatan studio or on site; we do not operate a retail shop or sell groceries.
